MIDTERM (Election) MADNESS

REPUBLICANS TOOK SEATS IN THE MIDTERM BAHHHHH THIS COUNTRY IS SO STUPID AND IRRESPONSIBLE AND IMPATIENT BLAHHH WHY ARE CITIZENS TURNING BACK TO THE SAME PARTY THAT RUINED EVERYTHING EVERRRR GAHHHH THE CONSERVATIVES ARE GOING TO SHIT ALL OVER US ALL RAHHH THE UNITED STATES IS FALLING APARTTTTT AHHHHHHHH.

Holy hell, guys.  Calm the fuck down.
Yes, Republicans took back a lot of seats.  No, they didn't regain control of government.  Remember that.

What happened on November 3rd wasn't a tragedy, wasn't the entirety of America shifting sides, wasn't the first sign of the apocalypse, wasn't really anything all that influential--incumbents pretty much always lose seats in midterm elections.  This was just a wake-up call.

Americans are unhappy and are calling for the "change" that was promised to them.  So little of the promises made were actually kept, so this is America saying "We have the power to kick you out.  So shape up quickly or we'll boot you."

Republicans gained seats, yes.  But not enough to actually do anything with it.  They stopped Democrats from having a supermajority, true.  But Scott Brown did that a while ago.  Democrats, you didn't have absolute and undeniable power before this--even if the Republicans only had the filibuster, they had power to stop you.  So you know what?  You still don't have absolute power.  Republicans?  You can't do anything--you don't have the power to pass whatever you want.  So you know what, government?  Let me go call the fucking wahmbulance.

This is JUST a wake up call, for BOTH sides of the aisle.  This election is just Americans speaking up and saying that they want government to fucking do something.  So, excuse me government?  DO SOMETHING.  And yeah, neither side has absolute power, so you know what's going to have to happen?  You two kiddies are going to have to play nicely and share.  Make some god damn negotiations.  Attempt to appease the masses rather than one small sect of the masses?  You need to stop being so focused on individuals and really look at America as a whole in times like this.  I know, that's an EXTREMELY hard task--America truly is a ridiculous diverse and varying nation--but it's what has to happen right now.

But hey, that's just my take on what happened.

Negotiate, please.

Yup,
The A.S.S.
